Eight disciplines, one delivery model.

Hextal operates as an integrated EPC contractor across eight engineering disciplines. Every project draws on whichever capabilities it requires, assembled from a single delivery organisation with shared standards, shared safety culture and shared accountability. We do not outsource the hard parts. We do not subcontract the risk. When a client hires Hextal, they hire 131 years of institutional memory and 41,800 people who know how to use it.

The full capability matrix.

01 / Civil & Infrastructure

Bridges, tunnels, rail & highways.

From cable-stayed crossings to bored alpine tunnels — the load-bearing arteries of European movement.

612 active sitesEnter discipline
02 / Energy & Grid

Renewables, transmission, storage.

Offshore wind foundations, HVDC interconnectors, pumped storage, hydrogen-ready substations.

14.2 GW deliveredEnter discipline
03 / Marine & Ports

Quays, locks, dry docks, breakwaters.

If a continent rests on its coastline, we work where the rock meets the salt.

38 active portsEnter discipline
04 / Civic & Health

Hospitals, universities, transport hubs.

Buildings that must work for fifty years, twenty-four hours a day, with no acceptable failure mode.

142 facilitiesEnter discipline
05 / Heritage & Restoration

Stabilising the past for the next century.

Masonry, timber, stone — and the patience to learn how 19th-century craftsmen built before we touch their work.

06 / Water & Environment

Flood defence, treatment, networks.

Built on the Dutch coast — we understand water as well as we understand stone.

07 / Digital Engineering

BIM, digital twins, autonomous fleets.

An in-house software practice of 1,200 engineers — because a 22 km tunnel needs a 22 km model.

08 / Concession & PPP

Owning what we build, where it makes sense.

€6.4 B equity invested across 41 European concessions — toll roads, hospitals, district heating.

Four gates, zero ambiguity.

01

Assess

Site investigation, geotechnical survey, environmental impact study, stakeholder mapping and regulatory pathway analysis. We understand the ground before we break it. Typical duration: 3 to 12 months depending on complexity and jurisdictional requirements.

02

Design

Concept through detailed design using BIM Level 2 minimum. All structural, MEP, civil and environmental disciplines modelled in a federated digital twin. Design reviews at 30%, 60% and 90% completion with client sign-off at each gate.

03

Build

Construction delivery with full-time site management, HSE oversight and quality assurance. Real-time progress tracking through our proprietary Site Pulse platform. Weekly client reporting with deviation alerts and earned value analysis.

04

Handover

Commissioning, snagging, as-built documentation and operational training. The digital twin transfers to the client as a living maintenance model. We offer 5-year defect liability and optional lifecycle maintenance contracts.

§ 04 - Hextal/Lab

An in-house software practice of 1,200 engineers.

Hextal/Lab was founded in 2014 as a three-person skunkworks in Delft. Today it is the digital backbone of every project we deliver. Our teams build the digital twins that model structures before they exist, the BIM systems that coordinate every trade on every site, the autonomous survey drones that map terrain faster than any human crew, and the predictive analytics platforms that catch schedule drift before it becomes a delay.

Zero is the only acceptable number.

Every person on a Hextal site has the authority to stop work. No project schedule, no client deadline and no commercial pressure overrides the obligation to keep people safe. Our total recordable incident rate of 0.41 is less than a quarter of the European construction sector average. We are not proud of it. We are working to make it lower.

Measured by what we hand over.

Our clients are governments, public agencies, regulated utilities and institutional investors. They cannot afford to explain cost overruns to parliaments or schedule slips to the public. We hold ourselves to the same standard they are held to. These numbers are audited annually and published in our integrated report.
